Upon undertaking the extremely difficult task to create a supposed “personal cannon” out of all the different subjects of transformers I found that in everything, its way too complex. And Hasbro or Marvel or whomever had the rights at the time attempted to explain these obvious or (not quite so obvious) discrepancies by interlaying another layer of complexity upon this. Therefore how can such an undertaking be done? Quite simply, by adding a layer of simplicity interrelated to the various complexities so that it becomes as truth, such as the subjects mentioned above, rather than blatant fiction.
Now, that being said, though the approach in and of itself its quite simple, i.e. adding a layer of simplicity to it all, doing such is not simple at all, yet indeed quite difficult.
In my studies I found various references to things such as the Multiverse, Universal Streams, and Splintering Timelines. I have devised a way, in effect a layer of simplicity to explain it all. But first let it be said:
According to HasbroI will attempt to do things in a way that you can see where things come from since before the beginning of time. This will also answer any discrepancies questions. But please note: One of the key concepts to this is that there IS a multiverse, and as there exists a multiverse, there does also exist several point of views of the exact same thing. You and I may have witnessed the same crime taking place, and yet our stories given to the officers conflict with one another because of the nature of 2 point of views. Therefore, all that is “Cannon” is indeed exempt from being entirely accurate as it was told by someone from that universe, from his or her point of view. Nevertheless, If you were to say that my shirt was black, and another to say my shirt was yellow, it doesn’t take away from the truth that in reality it is blue. Whether or not I see it as such, or you.
"The complex nature of the multiverse demands much from singular creatures like the Fallen, Primus, Unicron, the 13, etc. These beings are of a fundamentally different nature from regular individuals, who are repeated endlessly throughout the infinite variation of creation. They must be designed or evolved to deal with certain situations that would drive lesser beings mad.First of all, time flows differently from dimension to dimension. By necessity, this makes it possible for creatures like the Fallen to appear to exist in two places at the same time. Second, whole new universes are spawned every moment by the resolution of quantum uncertainty. Most of these universes are dead ends that exist for only a few seconds or minutes at most, and encompass only a few critical moments. Therefore, at certain critical junctures, the Fallen becomes a quantum event, experiencing two or more possible outcomes at once, until one of those outcomes proves to be a dead end and collapses. The Fallen then reverts back to the "real" universe. Every story has dozens or hundreds of endings we never see. But the Fallen sees them.
One of the side effects of the Fallen's quantum nature is that his appearance changes slightly from dimension to dimension, based on the expectations of others, and the unique history he has (or has not) established in a particular dimension. He is also bound by the "rules" (gravity, magnetism, etc.) of any dimension in which appears – many of which rules he may have actually helped shape when the multiverse was young. So if time flows backwards in a certain dimension, he is bound to live and experience – forgetting as he goes along – everything backwards.
Smart and savvy dimensional travelers spend time in reverse timescale dimensions, slow-time dimensions, or dimensions in which time does not move at all. This ensures that even if they are "killed," they continue to exist. As you can see, the idea of sequential experience as you and I understand it is pretty meaningless to guys like the Fallen. He does experience all these things, but his mind operates on a higher order so all of this stuff totally makes sense to him."
Since before the beginning of time there has existed the Astral Plane, and within this plane an Asgard of the Gods, known as the Omniversal Matrix Zone.[1] This is the home of the being called THE ONE,[2] an extra-dimensional entity from before time, in whom Order and Chaos exist in perfect harmony. The One stretched forth his hand and created another plane, known not as the Omniverse, but as the Universe.[3] The One formed an astral being, his son, known as Unicron to oversee the Universe. Being filled with both Order and Chaos, its harmony was not perfect in the Physical Plane and caused Unicron to go mad, thinking that he was forever banished from the Omniversal Matrix Zone. Because of this he tore apart the universe, consuming it in a blind attempt of both hate and unconditional love towards his father figure, The One.[4]
The universe consumed, Unicron slept a fitful sleep surrounded by the void. But fragments of the universe began to come together and form a new universe around him. The One, both in rage and pity set forth his hand to retake the life from his son, Unicron. But he, upon being touched by The One, awoke, and drew away from the Powerful being, causing him to be split into two. Now two beings, one filled with merely the Chaos and the other with the Order, Unicron and Primus went their separate ways. However, as the ruler of the Universe was split, so too was its charge, and the Universe shattered. Each fragment becoming its own universe, and therefore was created the Multiverse. Unicron was absolute Chaos,[5] therefore only one of him existed in all of the Multiverse. On the other hand Primus, being Order,[6] was reflected throughout the universe, ending up in each fracture, yet still being one. Unicron was still filled with hate, and Primus the love. They fought, valiantly trying to subdue the other, being opposites and knowing that through the defeat of the other they could enter the Omniversal Matrix Zone. Many other gods from the astral realm came and fought with the two, one side being dubbed the Light Gods, and the others the Lords of Chaos. Eventually it came to be that only Primus and Unicron remained, the other gods destroyed (or as in the case of the Chronarchitect, fled) Using his brains, knowing brawn was not his best ally, Primus shifted the battle to the Astral Plane, and then back again to the physical, trapping them both in metallic asteroids that formed around them while the battle ensued.
The One, aware of these events sent his servant Primon[7], whom he created, along with a piece of the Zodiac[8] to destroy Unicron, it being his antithesis. But Primon, taking the Zodiac he received did not do this, but sought to become like a god by controlling Unicron. So instead he used the Zodiac to teraform the planetoid, allowing Unicron to transform. Unicron upon being released did not obey Primon, as Primon thought he would, but cast the Zodiac out of his presence before it could kill him and went on to destroy each particular planet, seeking to find his brother Primus, and consume his great asteroid. The Zodiac drifted until it eventually reached Primus himself, and he, knowing it to be a part of himself used it not to transform himself, but to create beings to transform and protect him.[9]
Primacron, now bereft of the Matrix, would now search for Energon scattered throughout the universe, and with it he began to create other beings, hoping that through them he could rule this universe at least. Unfortunately these beings, the Quintessons, had their own goals in mind and left him to wander the universe.
Primus, using the power of himself in the form of the computer Vector Sigma, and the Matrix created 13 beings. (For my purposes, these beings include Prima[10a], Vector Prime[10b], Logos Prime[10c], Alpha Prime[10d], Nexus Prime[10e], The Fallen[10f], Maccadam[10g], & The Last Autobot.[10h]) Unicron finally caught up with Primus and the battle began anew, only this time it was in the form of the Original Epic Warriors of Cybertron. Only the betrayal of The Fallen was almost enough to make Primus lose, but Prima using his Star Saber, created a black hole for The Fallen and Unicron to fall into, leading them to another Universe. The Thirteen then went on to separate (As described below[10]). The Quintessons eventually found the Planet, which they dubbed Cybertron, and began teraform the planet into metal, and create their own form of life by stealing the force of Vector Sigma. These creations went on to be called Demons and Mutants.[11] Using these creatures they took hold of the Transformers and ruled over them, then locked the creatures away, for they were afraid being overcome.[12] The Transformers were then split into 2 classes, Slave Labor, and Gladiatorial Fun.[13]
Eventually the Quintessons found themselves booted off-planet and the Transformers established Overlords over themselves. They kept the games and work, because they knew of nothing else to do. Unfortunately they could not control themselves and began to war amongst themselves, starting the Great War.[14]
The Multiverse seemed to get along great at this point, with each universe following their own time and choices, but the next threat that endangered them all was the Unicron Singularity, the great black hole which tried to destroy all universes. This in turn caused many Universes to merge, split, and even be destroyed or created.[15]
[1] The Omniversal Matrix Zone can be recognized by its many other known names such as: the Allspark, the Matrix Zone, the Vok Nebula, and the Omniversal Matrix. (The Omniverse, as it is called, is actually the entirety of the Astral Plane.)
[2] The One is also known as the Sentient Core, or even by the name Great Xal. One wonders if his name should also be Omnicron…
[3] The Universe is the same as the physical plane whereas the Omniverse is the astral plane. In later events the Universe splits, becoming the Multiverse. Where Axiom Nexus is the portal between them all and the Omniverse itself.
[4] Unicron’s hate came from him thinking that he was now doomed to live away from the Omniversal Matrix due to the formlessness of the energy of Chaos, so he destroyed the universe, which his father created. His love comes from the greatness of the energy of Order and destroyed the universe of his father in an attempt to show his father that he was strong enough to dwell in the Omniversal Matrix with him.
[5] The Chaos that existed in the Omniversal Matrix Zone and within Unicron himself is actually Angolmois, the essence of Nucleon.
[6] The Order that existed in the Omniversal Matrix Zone and now within Primus himself is actually Zodiac, the essence of Energon.
[7] Primon would later go on to change his name to Primacron.
[8] This piece of the Zodiac is more conveniently known as “The Matrix.” Often the creation matrix, or the matrix of leadership. It is filled with the essence of Primus, which is the Zodiac and its power of Energon.
[9] The Transformers! (duh) Primus originally attempted his creations on the moon Protos, called the Covenant. Afterwards he created the 13 Warriors on his own planet to ward off the evil Unicron.
[10] a Prima was the first created, and given the powerful Star Saber sword. Not to mention the protection of the Matrix
b Vector Prime was another of the 13. As was appointed guardian over time and space. After the events of the Fallen, he disappeared in time and space only to reappear when needed.
c Logos Prime was appointed guardian over the Balance and Matter. After the Betrayal Event, he went on to become Liege Maximo, concerned with the balance of good and bad throughout the Universe.
d Alpha Prime has been the most ambiguous of them all, for he actively has stayed with the history and is known by many names. One of these was A3, or Alpha Trion. In another Universe he was identified as The Keeper. He was the Guardian of Primus himself and the computer component known as Vector Sigma.
e Nexus Prime was guardian of Rarefied Energon. After the Betrayal Event he went on to be split into 5 different components: Skyfall, Landquake, Topspin, Breakaway, and Heatwave.
f The Fallen was once known by a different name, but is now only known by his title: The Fallen. He betrayed the rest of the 13 and began to serve Unicron, only to end up in a black hole in the process.
g Maccadam is a pseudo-name used by one of the members of the 13. Instead of going the way of the Fallen and Liege Maximo, and instead of going the way of the Last Autobot and Vector Prime, Maccadam choose simply to live on and help everyone in the best way possible: An Oil Shop!
h The Last Autobot is a title given to himself after the Betrayal Event. The Fallen, whom the Last Autobot was close to, chose to serve Unicron rather than Primus. Feeling his betrayal more than others, The Last Autobot chose to do as The Fallen had done, only with Primus, and hid himself in Cybertron until that day in which he would be of the greatest use to Primus, as he knew The Fallen was doing for Unicron.
i-m Nothing is known about the rest of the Thirteen for there are no Legends that contain them (as far as we know) It could be that they are still out their waiting for yet another cataclysmic event to stop, or perhaps they have long since died, birthing the Transformers.
[11] They should have forseen this with the Transformers, but meh… hindsight is 20/20.
[12] Where was Alpha Prime at this time? We don’t know.
[13] The Slave classes were of course the Autobots, and the Gladiators, the Decepticons.
[14] The Great War was also called The Third Cybertronian War by some chroniclers of history because the first was the Betrayal Event, the war between Unicron and the 13; the second, the revolt against the Quintessons, who took control of them; and the third being the civil war amongst themselves.
[15] The Unicron Singularity actually causes a rift in the Multiverse itself, leading to the different Polarity Multiverses. As stated above, each Universe moves at its own pace, and Cliffjumper was caught at the time of the Unicron Singularity and sent to the Negitive Polarity Universe Primax -408.24 Epsilon. This doesn’t follow the normal rules of Multiverse Singularities as it is a different Multiverse entirely. Primus is still good, and Unicron still bad, but Alpha Trion (Alpha Prime) chose to follow bad and the Fallen didn’t even have his title, living on with his real name on the side of the Noble Decepticons.
